Well had been planning this trip for a few weeks. So took leave on the weekday before the long weekend of Selangor Sultan & Prophet Muhammad birthday. Left on a Wed morning and off we went. 1st stop was Pun Chun at Bidor for breakfast. Luckily all was quiet and not much issue looking for a car park got to have a nice breakfast but unfortunately the Salted Chicken Tung Lok has closed down. After breakfast wanted to visit the Tanjung Tualang Tin Dredge but unfortunately was down for maintenance. So like it or not we had to go for an early lunch so had to stop at the town and have lunch at Yew Kei. But again it was closed so we settled for Luen Fong instead. As expected the fish and prawns were fresh just didnt have that sweetness that we were accustomed to the Parit Jawa seafood sweetness taste. Next up was the long drive to Sitiawan for the Gong Pia . First reached Cheong Cia but had to wait for the next batch so we when to Cheng Li for the meat version then back to Cheong Cia in time for the next batch to be sold. Waited for quite sometime then finally reached Marina Island Resort. It was quite a big place, big enough for Lucas to play football. Then went to Bei King restaurant for dinner and again it was closed so we went to Lido Restaurant instead, taste wise not bad. After dinner went to top up some fuel and planned to stop at Lumut Waterfront area to buy some dry foodstuffs. Once that was done we went back hotel and that was Day 1.
Didn't sleep well becoz the air cond was quite cold and dry and I couldnt sleep. Then went to the hotel coffee house for breakfast before checking out. Finally Debbie relented to go Dua Pek Gong temple to see the sights. It was quite hot and saw many statues and the kids had fun rowing the boat. So after Debbie bought some chinese painting then went to have lunch at Ipoh SYW for some duck and BBQ meats. After the meal checked into Majestic Ipoh. Finally rested and was able to enjoy the room before dinner. Dinner was at Lou Wong and Tuck Kee for the Kuey Teow, so so taste and then went to Aeon Kinta City after dinner to buy some toys for the kids.
The next day was a full day of museum visits but first was a visit to the local coffee shop at Loke Wooi. Then off to Ho Yan Hor museum which was at Old Town area. When we got there found that we needed to queue to go in the museum. Not only that the next Han Chin Pet Soo also had an appointment to make . So I quickly made an afternoon appointment at 230pm. Waited for quite sometime before able to go in and visited the museum. After that went to Concubine Street for jalan jalan before going to lunch. But after Concubine Lane was too hot so we retreated at Plan b for a drink and rest before going to lunch at Lou Wong. So we walked back to Han Chin Pet Soo and enjoyed the guided tour. After the tour went back to Majestic to rest awhile before going to the swimming pool. Dinner was at Yoke Fook Mun for some dinner and noodles.
Next morning had breakfast at Vegas and bought some CCF to eat as lunch at Majestic before checking out at 12 and reached KL by 330pm.
