CNY2012 Huat ah! Heng ah!

This year as usual the reunion dinner will be at my place so I thought of doing a little bit of deco, so went to Petaling St to buy some lantern lights since Lucas loves them. We'll usually asks him "美吗?" and he will reply美....!

Dinner was ok except for the 一品锅 got spoiled by the sea cucumber which was expensive but had a very strong fishy smell. Then Lucas skin had a bit of a rash so we rushed him to the clinic to get some medicine as he was quite upset by the itch. We suspect its becoz of the 肉干, so we kept him away from oranges and bakua. The next morning we went to Ah Bee's place for some vegetarian and then onward to Seremban. First stop Limbok , had some 面线 next Lemon Hill but was caught by the rain storm which was quite heavy. Waited till Dad arrived before we left for Muar at 5pm. Reached Muar by 7pm at TuaKoo's place and the kids had some fun with the fire crackers.

Next day had a full day of entertaining the Ah Ma's Johor Laksa Open House. This year we even invited a lion dance troupe so it was quite exciting and fun. The guests streamed in till late at night and we were bushed at the end of the day.

3rd Day of CNY Diana brought the kids to Tanjong Emas to see monkeys but it was too late and was getting hot. So brought them to the playground instead. Lucas was about to fall asleep in the car as he woke up quite early this morning. While we were there I bought a kite for Brandon as I had failed to help him fly a kite after previous promises. Finally after a few attempts , got it airborne so I handed it to Brandon to play with it. After a few minutes he got bored with it and complained he was hot and tired. Sigh!... this generation of kids definition of fun is playing in the air-cond room with PSP or any gadgets. Packed up and left soon after as the weather was getting too hot. Went for brunch at Parit Jawa with the JB gang. They came yesterday but missed the lion dance. After lunch went to Alicia's house for some gambling sessions. Lost some money though, the 万字 didn't turn out also, aiya no luck la. Came back rested and had a simple dinner.

Sanbanto Pork Temple

We planned to get supplies for the coming Chinese new year, so Debbie had ordered the pork from Sanbanto and so we had our dinner there as well. We ordered 3 dishes which I thought was too much , with Brandon & Lucas around , mana tau!, almost not enough to eat. This is our 2nd visit which I thought tasted better the 2nd time. We ordered spaghetti, pork chops and burgers. Finally our assessment is Sanbanto vs Cristang, Sanbanto wins in terms of price and taste. I guess we'll be making more trips here to buy pork and spare parts. Very big diff in terms of pork smell, which they claim doesn't smell of "ter kor".

Lazy January

After the long holidays in Dec 2011, dont feel used to working days as there's another flurry of holidays coming very soon. About 5 public holidays for 3 weeks from end Jan to early Feb, so if you apply for 10 days leave between these 3 weeks you won't be going to the office for 3 weeks.

New Year 2012 came and went not much to expect, had went to JJ and came back quite late. Wanted to go to the roof top to catch some of the fireworks but stomach ache. Was doing my business when I heard the loud explosions and I knew I missed it , nvm there's always next year but not according to the Mayans ... ah nvm that's another story.

2011 Xmas

Like the annual migration of the birds, come every Xmas the gangs of KL, Muar & Spore will travel down south to Jb to celebrate Xmas with the Jb gang. We started our journey on Sat to Muar then to Jb on Sun morning. We had some hearty breakfast at Pesta a new place that we haven't tried before. The journey was ok and we had a pitstop at Ayer Hitam as well. Then just as we were approaching Skudai toll, disaster struck. There was an irritating noise (not Lucas la) I repeat an additional noise from the car. I knew that this was bad , so I quickly slowed down then swerved to the side and inspected the damage. The alignment of the fan belt was out and part of the belt was already sliced off. First thing I did was to call the insurance company, couldn't get through. Then tried calling Annie to source for a local workshop.

Incidently, there was a vintage car show going on at the toll offices nearby, so I sought for help. It seems that PLUS provides their services for free offering their tow truck services from toll to toll only beyond that we had to source ourselves. They gave me a no. , so I tried to call them yet after awhile no trucks had arrived so I tried to find one close by, I found a truck just by the road. Asked the guy, it seemed that he was covering the event. Since he was idle might as well help us to tow our car to the nearest workshop. Luckily Philip knows someone from his kampong & was willing to help us out. So we towed the truck to Kebun Teh Lama, while we removed the luggage then Ah Ma and the rest waited for Kwan Yew to fetch them to Kim Teng Park. The sky was cloudy whole day log, just hoped that it won't rain, else!!!!.

Once I reached the workshop the guy remarked I was lucky again as he normally goes out kai kai with the wife every weekend. He went & bought some sparepart for the belt & he finished the job within 10 min. Philip & Chris was around to accompany me back to Kim Teng Park later yet Kwan Yew has not come back as he had to go out to Senai to come to Skudai toll.

Finally managed to settle down have a good & tasty lunch of Johor Laksa & Lontong washed down with some Peters concoction. Dizzy already. Went to check in at Crystal Crown the the door handle broke. Argh....! Went to Jaya Putra at Philips house for dinner makan, yummy food.

After the party at Jaya Putra we thought we would be going back to Muar tomorrow morning. Sigh! Mana tau Annie keep asking us to go to Kim Teng Park for the annual BBQ event just for the family members only. So we had to concede and had a late check out so that we can stay for the BBQ , stayed till 9plus and we left for Muar. Reached at 1130pm, sigh... tired Lucas was cranky in the car as well.

Since Brandon had finished his program so he's free to join Ah Ma in Muar. Ah Ma and Ah Kung came down to do some shopping then also met up with the JB gang and we had dinner at Pavilion Madam Kwan's. Aiyah forgot to bring camera again. Took a day off , went to Dr. KK Wong's office for the test on Wednesday to confirm our suspicions and it's confirmed. Looks like another coming and its due on 24 July 2012. Unexpectedly met some ex-college mates from Systematic College during my ACCA program. Luckily we exchanged contacts and I managed to link them trough Facebook. Its amazing what technology can do. Anyway they are also having their 3rd child which I think will be due sooner than us. Had Ampang Fong Fong Yong Tow Foo(tasty and reasonable price as usual) for lunch and TooWoomBa Deli & Meats(pricey, taste not bad) for dinner.

Clever Graduation

After spending 500 bucks to the holiday classes at Clever in Genting Klang, it has finally come to and end after 15 days of fun and discovery.Brandon was happy to have kids around him to interact with and the teachers are young people who was fun to be with. I had a phone call from his teacher fearing that Brandon will forget the instructions given to him and the stupid note will always be in Chinese that I had to check using a dictionary word for word. So the instructions were for him to get ready with dinner eaten by 630pm on Sat 18 with the full gear of the "Clever" program T-Shirt and long pants at Mun Yee School, luckily I had washed earlier so he could wear it again.

It was one of those lazy weekends and Debbie mentioned that both the boys characters are very different, one is passive and the other active. One is smarter the other is.... not so quick. Anyway it was one of those remarks that said the "haolian" face comes from the Teo Chew blood and the loud voice comes from the Hakka blood. So I decided that it's time that Brandon learn about his family dialect. So I asked him

Me: Brandon,你是什么人?
Brandon: Huh?我是华人
Me: Yeah I know but Daddy is from the Hakka dialect and so you are Hakka too.
Brandon : Huh? You kidding me, are you serious?
Me: Yes, you are Hakka . So you must learn Hakka OK?
Brandon: DOWAN.....
Me: No , you must learn la.. OK We start Lesson 1 ok?
Brandon: Ok la
Me : We start ha!, Me in Hakka is "Ngai" , Pointing at him You is "Ngi", ok now you try
Brandon: "Yai", "Yi"
Me: No....! again, its "Ng......aaaiii not "Yai". "Ngggg....iiiii" not "Yi", ok? you try

Me sound exasperated : No! "Its not "Yai" its Ngai, Yin not Mi

Me: Sigh.. good , finally you got it but don't know for how long, will test you again tomorrow.

I managed to find a photo of their great grandfather from the net and hopefully will be proud that their Hakka Tai Kung (Datuk Pang Tet Tshung born 9 Dec 1923)was in the Sabah cabinet and was awarded not too long as well.

Other facts gathered but unverified of his
i) great grand uncle. Extract :- "Pang Tet Hyun, M.D 1922-2011 A retired physician, passed away peacefully at home on September 19, 2011, at age 89 from complications of Parkinson's Disease. He is survived by his loving wife Anna of 46 years. Dec 1st weekend

These few months much has happened, tried to upgrade my Nokia 5800 but got it bricked now I can only hope they can revive it. Been getting poison here and there to buy a new phone. Sigh! I've got phones already just need a GPS ,so when I saw an offer from Everyday I bought it. Hmm... as for phones not really interested unless they launch a GSM/Wimax/ Android phone like HTC Supersonic or something like that. Or maybe a new tablet? or laptop? Noooo...... stop spending...

Last week we saw a program by Axian regarding Hainan Chicken Rice which rated the Loke Yun Ampang Village as the best in Malaysia. Sure boh... ? So we went there to try it out, looks clean and comfortable , service is ok, overall ok only la..I still miss the Spore chicken rice which I used to eat almost everyday while I was working there few years back.Looking for a place to park at Ampang Village is a real turnoff, Will I return: Maybe. Dunno where to go after that, so just go to Berjaya Time Square becoz Brandon has been asking to go Cosmo's World for the past few weeks so brought him there to try the rides.Luckily have Popular Card with me so I could get discounts. Brandon went on and on for the Bumper Car rides for at least 45 min before we convinced him to try the bigger rides. The worst that we tried was "Dizzy Izzy", the ride was fun initially but was just too long , made me feel queasy, luckily never vomit out the mornings chicken rice. Brandon didn't have much choice so we took a second ride on Dizzy Izzy, sigh.. old already! feeling really dizzy then went to the Food Court down at the LG floor .

Having dinner earlier didn't feel so good so had some Tomyam soup to have a better appetite. After makan , go home sleep.....

Yay! Holidays are here

Well, holidays are finally here and Brandon is happy to vegetate at home. Its only the mummy cant stand him having nothing to do so we signed up a holiday program with lots of activities like magic shows, kitchen science, sushi making & doraeyaki baking, careers intro like fireman, outings like Lake garden etc. Lucky for him its not for study but just play time for the next 15 days , 5 days a week from 930 till 1530, so he dun feel so "wuliao" and vegetate by dreaming at home. Every day the van will pick him up in the morning to class at Genting Klang (Clever) and drop him off after class.

Went back to Muar , last weekend and Sa-Yee bought him some kitchen science experiment kits to play with. Came back on Sunday because Brandon starts his class on Monday even though its a replacement holiday. Then went to 1U to try a new makan place called Xiao Ba Wang. Price wise ok, taste wise so so only. Will I return ? NO

City boy visits the kampong

Debbie has a colleague who invited her to their wedding reception at Kuang. Huh? ! so far , not really but really kampung area which has very nice houses and lots of land. Took the DUKE highway then PLUS using the GPS to get to the area. Got there but not in time to catch the ceremony. Brandon was engrossed as usual reading the Tintin comic on my phone.

Spore holiday Here we come!

Day1
Debbie had an assignment in Spore so we took the opportunity to make a short trip since Brandon had finished his exams. But it was tough as we had to rush through the birthday party and the next day , we had to start the journey down south. Got up and started lugging the baggage down and left abt 9+ then had breakfast at the usual McD near the SgBesi Hway then started the journey abt 1045. Made 4 stops at Kg Baru, Ayer Keroh & Kulai for gas then TnG at Tuas before reaching YMCA at 430pm.
After checking in had a rest before Reen n Choon came to pick us up for dinner at Geylang G7 for some Frogs Legs Porridge. I had a brief look see of the area and the whole place was selling Mainland China food, operated and patronised by the Mainland Chinese. Somehow their accent and behavior bothers me. Then Alicia n Andy brought us to the Marina Barrage the new happening place for Sporeans to enjoy a healthy lifestyle by flying kites @ nite???? yeah with blinking lights. On the way back Alicia kept asking Debbie to go shopping but we were tired from the journey and really needed our rest for the next 2 days.

Day2
We planned to go to Sentosa Underwater World to catch some shows like the Pink dolphins and also the Underwater World aquariums. After lunch at Food republic we took the MRT to Jurong for the Snow City and Spore Science Center. Finally dinner was at a Korean restaurant where we had a birthday celebration for Alicia n Brandon.

Day3

Today woke up with our feet sore and back numb. I kept telling myself that I'm getting too old but in fact I'm too out of shape( I know.. I know.. ROUND is also a shape) from all the walking the previous day. Today its going to be worse since we would be walking whole day long at the Spore Zoo. The place was really big and kids had fun especially at the Splash Pool. Dinner was at Melben Crabs AMK

Brandon's 8th Birthday Party

Had asked Brandon whether he wants a birthday party or not. Brandon's reply 'YESSS!! actually he doesnt entertain any of the kids , he just plays his PSP or Ipodtouch. Debbie and me had to take half day leave to prepare and buy all his party supplies and food. He invited all his playmates and their parents for his party.

So what is this silly ang moh festival anyway, why is their holiday being celebrated the world over that people find it hip to celebrate. I could only try to understand based on our Chinese version which is the Hungry Ghost Festival of which we had been warned since young not to make fun of or celebrate it with fun but with caution and all sorts of pantang. Well of course due to modernisation there are sexy girls performing getai performances but that's another story. Passed by Bangsar Village Grocer and saw the price of the Giant pumpkin on display costs RM1199, gila!

Didn't plan much for the current weekend as we try to keep it free and easy where we just have dinner at Bangsar then jalan-jalan near Bangsar Village. At first wanted to try Nyonya food at BabaLows, Mana Tau! not open for dinner so turn back to and settled for Mdm Kwan's Nasi Lemak. I must say the things there quite pricey leh! Most important is Lucas was able to go kai kai or else he will drive us crazy at home.

Weekend at KLCC

Ah Kung hasn't been visiting KL for awhile and since Sa Yee have a wedding dinner to attend , Ah Kung tagged along for the ride. We thought of going to KLCC Chilli's for dinner. The place was being renovated that even Sa Yee got lost in KLCC. While Sa Yee went for the wedding dinner at Ave K, we were feasting at Chilli's. Had to wait an hr to makan so stayed awhile upstairs at Kinokuniya . Then to kill time, just shoot at people passing by.

Tua Ee Bird Day

Had a last minute plan to go back "MaPo" to celebrate Tua Ee's bird day. Arggh!! Had a headache the night before so I turned in early. Woke up rested and packed to leave , didn't really decide which place to eat as we left at 8am. Decided to have breakfast at Seremban Pasar and planned to order in small portions so we can order more variety.Ordered Hakka Mee, Mee Hoon Sotong, Beef Noodle and a chicken rice for Brandon.

Pumped some gas after toll and found that we were too early so decided to detour jalan-jalan abit. Went to Baba Charlie Nyona Cake which was right across Tengkera Mosque. Bought some kuih then off to Jusco for some free air-cond and also transit to meet up with the rest of the Muar/Spore gang. Once everyone had arrived we proceeded to Amys Heritage decided by Debbie . Had a bit of trouble looking for the place and was quite satisfied with the food that we had, though a bit pricey. The boss was quite chatty telling us a bit about the food and Nyonya restaurants in Melaka. Unc Ah Choon loves the vege lemak as he kept sipping the lemak gravy. Had some tasty cendol too. After lunch kaypo abit next door for some wedding supplies for Ah Na then rushed back Ma Po so that can buy some supplies at Parit Jawa. Sorry I took a nap once reached , didnt follow them. Diner was cooked by Ah Ma, yummy chilly crabs.

PWC Family Day at Bukit Tinggi Resort

Another Family Day event organised by PWC. Actually the initial response was not encouraging so they extended the invitations to friends as well as extended family. So invited Auntie Ah Tay along as well. Never been there and didn't know which turning to turn out also. (Exit 805). So planned to leave by 730am , then I left slightly early to withdraw cash and pumped gas then took out the car seat and picked up Yati as well. Well the journey uphill was not very forgiving to the car as later on after a few car rides the car was up on smoke after the climb up to the Japanese garden. Which explains why Yati jumped to another car ride home, (hi hii scared my car rosak).Had some makan breakfast and lunch at the convention centre, which was a bit confusing as didn't get much help getting to the place. Skipped the tele-match and treasure hunt as we had kids which was a hassle, so the girls took a long time queuing for the fake tattoo which Brandon also had one. Right after he got home he took it off immediately , scared teacher scold woh! Well after long and torturous walk after the Japanese garden , Brandon collapsed and slept at the bakery when we reached the French village "Colmar Tropicale". We had spent some time at the Animal farm too which was Brandon and Lucas favorite as they had fun playing at the playpen.After a long day , we returned home but not directly as Debbie thought we'd be too lazy to move once at home so went to JJ awhile before having dinner at Ind. Area before reaching home at 940pm. More than 12 hours out , even more hard working than in office.

KL Bird Park

Last weekend wanted to give Brandon some activities, so I suggested going to the KL BirdPark which was at Lake Gardens. Before leaving, the sky looked really cloudy and I was having second thoughts about going. After breakfast at Old Town, it still didn't rain yet, so wanted to ajak Auntie Tay to follow us. When we got there , there were lots of people around , mostly tourist. So paid for the tickets, which cost me 20/adult and only 10/child, Lucas was FOC. Mana tau ?!! After an hour or so, the rain kept coming and coming till we decided to go home. Potong stim only! I had to run back to the car to get the umbrella and I was soaked wet. So had to cancel the outing prematurely then we went out later to One Utama. What a tiring day!

PS. Brandon complained sick and took 2 days leave from school

Super Peak Holiday-Raya+Merdeka+School Holidays

Had planned a holiday for Brandon and didn't planned to go far. So I thought of Ipoh because of the Lost World of Tambun and also Ipoh is famous for having good food. I planned to go on the 1st day of Raya to avoid the jams and leave early in the morning. Woke up at 6am then moved the things to the car and pumped gas. Was a bit off schedule but never mind as we reached Auntie Ah Tays sisters house around 9+ Jalan Papan then onwards to have breakfast.

At first we tried Ming Court, failed because too many people and no tables available, Foh San , failed again, Yoke Fook Mun, failed again, finally Chef Fatt and looks like we would be turned away again till we finally managed to secure 1 table. Ah.. finally some dim sum breakfast and then on wards to Lost World of Tambun but had to pump some gas first at Bercham.

We reached there about 11am and had to wait for nearly an hour to buy tickets, So slow! All because of people paying using cards which has promo price. They should have another counter paying cash mah! Stupid. Anyway got there and planned to go the other attractions like Petting zoo and Tiger Valley but knowing Brandon after he sees the Water Park , he kept pestering to go in the water. After having a few rides at the Amusement Park then proceeded to go the locker machines which didnt really comes with instructions and the guy behind me had to teach me to use the machine. Brandon had a fun time and we all had sunburn when we finished and left about 4pm to check in at Ritz Garden. Actually it was because of Lucas had dozed off after dipping into the hot spring spa else we would have stayed till closing time 6pm.

We saw a few reviews about the hotel had China girls operating in the hotel but I didn't really care as long as its new and affordable as I had tried Tower Regency and Regalodge but they were out of family rooms. The rate was RM200 /night and it had lots of facilities like swimming pool, cinema and library with free wifi access. Well after the 1st night we know why, the room was facing the traffic which was noisy due to the motor bikes vrrooomm vrooomm sound on Merdeka celebration. Complained to the front office about the security siren but when we switched to the Family Premier Deluxe on the 3rd night that costs 350/night the environment and furnishings were totally different.

The food trail in Ipoh was crazy with long queues at Lou Wong, Onn Kee, Cowan Street , Fifteen Tower and all the other famous places finally we settled for lesser known places like Thong Sui Kai, Kam Kee, Wooley Food Court etc. But managed to go to Thean Chun and Kong Heng at Old Town

The next day we went to 2 places which was Taman Rekreasi Gunung Lang and Gua Tempurung which was exhausting and hot whole day long. Brandon made a new friend Kevin Yong Kok Keong which was Auntie Tays nephew. He joined us for the trip.

Extending the trip for the 3rd night wasn't planned ahead as we thought the trip back would be jammed and hectic so extended another night and we had some light activities like visiting Jusco Kinta Shopping Centre.

Then when it was time to leave on Friday morning the car was so jammed with food we could hardly find space. Once we arrived in KL we made a stop at Pan Heong at Batu Caves for some lunch.

Perfect Livin Weekend

After complaining about the mosquitoes and moldy toilet door. We figured now is the best time to go and find out about the products and offers at Perfect Livin 2011 - Home and Lifestyle Exhibition.
It was held at PWTC and it was free entrance fee. So went early to the Mall to park the car and had breakfast at McD before proceeding to the exhibition hall. It is quite distressing as we had to walk through some construction for a pedestrian walk way and the cars were not slowing down for us to walk across. Got there register myself and I got a free gift which is a small cup with cover from Tupperware. Then upstairs to get across the bridge to the other exhibition hall at the other side of the river. It was still early and not many people were around. So proceeded to look see and when we finally found an exhibit stall selling bathroom doors. Finally let Debbie decide as she wanted a better looking (more expensive door) compared to Ah Kungs new bi-fold door. I must say it really looked better but doesn't really match the rest of the house which is old and in need of a renovation. Sigh! might as well buy a new house but that's another story.

So proceeded to book for the magnetic mosquito netting and also the bathroom door. In the meantime , Lucas and Brandon try to find some activities to kill some time while waiting for us. Ah! now that's finally done proceeded back to the Mall for some lunch at the Food Court now at the basement level. Becoz of the Ramadhan month the place was like a ghost town, as you can see the tired looks of the stall attendants. Had our lunch then wanted to go home but Brandon needed his fix for the day. Huh? go home? so boring! So took him to Ikea at BU so he can play at Smaland for an hour while we have a cuppa upstairs while waiting for him. Surprisingly met my ex- colleagues from SL but didnt talk much , duty calls. After picking up Brandon from Smaland, Debbie went shopping with Lucas and I accompanied Brandon to Popular Bookstore so he can browse some comic books and I waited for him for 2 hrs. Before we left Ikea decided to have some dinner at Sakae Sushi.
After dinner we were so tired but we still have another stop at Ecogreen for Debbie to buy some organic produce esp some chicken for Brandon as the doctor commented his skin rashes is probably from consuming antibiotics filled chicken. During that time Lucas was entertaining the staffs there by being himself.
Afterwards proceeded home and rested. Ah! another fulfilling but tiring weekend.

Got back to Muar by 11am then went to Parit Jawa (must do event) for lunch then bought some fish from Parit Jawa market(another must do). Secretly caught some of the traders making a deal at the pasar. These guys have to whisper to make a deal.

Its that time of year again to utilise our annual free hotel 1 night stay and we chose to have 2 std rooms at the Mines Wellness Spa (fka Mines Beach Resort). But first had to bring Mum to the dentist pay then send her shopping at Giant then send her back.So busy missed my lunch also. Fortunately dropped the kids at the Mines shopping center and checked in. Nothing much to do just relax and jalan-jalan and makan-makan at the Mines Shopping Mall. Much much better already, rest and relax then go home.

The day began with a cloudy day and a slight drizzle.
I had promised that I would bring out the kids to have some fun and I thought this would be educational as well. Brandon likes to see the Dinosaurs as well but I think he has forgotten he has seen it before. First thing in the morning had to force Brandon to wash his school shoes before we went out. Wanted to order McD for breakfast as usuak but they didnt want to deliver becoz of the rain. Duh! isnt that what they are supposed to do to take away our inconveniences rather than doing something that's convenient for them. So instead we went to the newly opened Old Town kopitiam along Jln Pahang.

Went to pump gas but got stuck at Bulatan Pahang made a quick exit at Hospital to cut the queue. Then off we went! reached there and bought the tickets and we made our way to the top of the hill. Went through all the exhibits excluding the aviary and the other mini farms around the complex. Finally left for lunch at Desa Sri Hartamas , and settled to eat at Aoyama didnt have much choice so caught a quick one and left to reach home to rest.

The last round that Alicia came to visit on July 9(yes Clean 2.0), we went to pick her up at Subang Airport. We thought of bringing her to Cristang to have lunch. We thought it was safe in PJ. Mana tau! the id**c Gahmen go and block on the Fed Highway , Gila! Just when we thought after we passed the Kg Tunku block, just when we wanted to turn in through Jln Templer . All the access to PJ old town was blocked. I pity those people staying there la. Cant even get in. Cursing then !@#$%^X, next we tried to have lunch at Frontera(Mexican) at Jaya One instead, verdict ok la.

2 weeks after we made another attempt to taste our pork! So went there and searched the place. Found that we were the 1st customer of the day. Lucas napped in the car while we were on our way there. Ah! a peaceful brunch. We ordered Pork chop, Pork Burger & Spaghetti Marinara. The pork chop was a bit overcooked , tough! Spaghetti was ok but my pork Burger was moist and tender. We had some Fried Butter Cake n Ice cream for dessert , sorry! forgot to take picture. The bill came up to RM130. Not cheap lo!
Luckily just after we finished our meal Lucas woke up from his nap and we fed him his porridge made from home. Don't know why after a while Lucas kept blinking his eyes at the waitresses trying to be cute. After brunch went to a Giant supermarket to stock up on Lucas's supplies. Came home to rest after that.

Well after the long journey last weekend, it was time to relax at home. But then Lucas would drive us crazy wanting to go out so we try to do some activities for them.

On Sat night , after having seen so many commercials and print about i-city that we decided to go and have a look. Auntie Tay tagged along since she was free and wanted to visit the place as well. We tried a new restaurant at SS2 New Formosa the food was not bad but a bit salty maybe we should have ate it with some rice. We left at about 9:20pm and we got stuck at Federal Highway till about 11pm we reached the place. We saw there was a long queue going in the park, so I decided to park at the roadside and walked in. Luckily there was no rain and I saved RM10 of parking fees. Saw the long streams of people , it was like a local fun fair with games and lights. The place was just a business park with offices all over , the only attraction was the lighted trees and the games. Honestly I don't see what's the fuss about. I tried to find the counter for the Snow Walk that costs RM25 adult RM20 and also the long queues really puts me off. In the end we just walked around saw some games , took some photos and swore off the place. This would be the first and last time that I would ever come to this place.

While having breakfast at Sky Rest. we tried the hair salon and gave Lucas a haircut. One that makes him look even more "pai nang". Ah Yee brought Brandon for supposedly an Ultraman fan exhibition but in actual just a shopping trip for him to buy all the toys and CD. Didn't really wanted to see Ultraman.

Cherating Club Med, here we come

Day1
Had been planning this trip for the past few months anticipating Brandon's term holidays. We had booked for a 3 day 2 nights but instead extended to 4 days 3 night instead as they gave 1 night extra if buy 2 nights. The night before had to pack a lot of clothes toys and stuffs for the kids to occupy the long drive. I had anticipated to be a long drive. On Sat morning, we started quite early 750am and skipped breakfast so that we can grab something on the way. But in the end I didn't stop and we drove all the way. It took 3 hours for us to reach Cherating but we couldnt check in as the check in time was 3pm so we were 4 hours early.

Then decided to do the first stop at Chukai town where we could sample the famous Hai Peng coffee and the Tong Juan stuff crab. Had some drinks at a local coffee shop nearby too to kill some time. During that time Brandon had already exhausted the batteries of his ipodtouch and PSP, even finished browsing a new book, kept pestering us. "Are we there yet?" "I wanna go Club Med" "Why so long ?". Before that did some shopping for some local products most important being the keropok. But after tasting a few of the keropok lekor , felt a bit disappointed. So I just forgot about it and try to enjoy the holiday.

After checked in decided to just relax till dinner time at 715pm well the whole place was really crowded. And after dinner decided to join in and see the show which was "Pirates of the Caribbean ala Club Med ". At the end of the day we were tired , there was supposed to be a beach party but we skipped it to retire early for tomorrow.

Day2
Had an early breakfast, then tried to register Brandon to the Mini club but sadly he was too young for the older kids so he joined the 3-7 yr old kids instead. Tried to enrol Lucas but he was too young their youngest starts at 2 years old. We decided to take it easy , we tried the archery class and took a train ride to the other side of the beach which had another French style restaurant and where all the water activities were held there. Joined the archery class.

Tried to relax near the lounge and pool and drank a few drinks from the bar. Felt bored and we were just waiting for the next meal. Then I went back for a nap with Lucas while Debbie picked up Brandon for dinner.

The night performance was "Moulin Rouge style" ,boring according to Brandon but I already knew that so I went off first with Lucas to rest in the room. When Brandon came back , he was very angry as he felt cheated by the silly magic show.

Day3
This was the most challenging day as we felt "rugi" if we didn't participate in most of the activities there. But Brandon had a hard time waking up as he told us that there were too many activities and he was being bullied by some of the kids. Took us quite sometime to wake him up. Next up we went to Kayaking but I didn't bring any swim wear so I was soaked and we went back and freshen up for the next activity Golf. Then next was the Bungee trampoline, finally the Trapeze. After that my body was so sore and tired. But then felt sorry for Lucas as he didn't get to play so decided to bring him to the pool for a dip finally we decided to go back and rest to get ready for dinner.

Before we finished dinner both Lucas and Brandon were asleep at the dinner table so we went back to rest.

Day4
Took it easy and had breakfast, then just sat around and relax till check out time at 11am then bought some dried goods before returning back to KL by 5pm. Actually wanted to visit the turtle sanctuary but the place was quite run down so decided to skip it and head back KL.

Playing with the new toy

Even after I bought the new toy but didn't really have much time to try it out. But sometimes I will try to play around with it. Reading the user manual is really a chore as there are like 1 thousand and functions but I don't really know what, when , how to use it. Maybe I should sign up a course for this? Ah what the heck , its the digital age and it doesn't cost much so I 'll just fire away.

Lazy Sunday at home

It was a lazy Sunday that we stayed home and lepak. After yesterdays purchase , its time for a bit of experimenting. After researching for a week or so finally took a chance bought the Olympus E-PL2 with twin lens w 8GB @2300 but the salesman pushed me to take additional accessories included a bag, spare battery and 2 lens filter which brings it a total to 2635.

As someone had said before "It ain't the camera but the brains that took the nice pictures". Sigh.. still can't get some decent shots though.

Day at the Park

Finally the photos are back after a month. Well the results were not encouraging as it was a hot day and we couldn't get any smiles from Lucas, mostly were frowns. Sigh... what to do! Maybe I should invest in a better camera then I can save the photographers fee. Hmm.. since my Oly camera died maybe I can salivate and dream of an E-PL2.

The Muar gang had a plan to pass by Genting then had a celebration in KL with the April babies. And also my car broke down sent to the repair shop for top over haul due to valve seat recession. Had scouted around for a few restaurants and finally settled down to a restaurant nearby namely Chong Fatt. It was a bit pricey but the food was good.

Weekend at Muar

Well we had the photo shoot at Lake Titiwangsa as planned. Bought some McD breakfast before that and tried to meet up with the photographer whose name is Leon. Drove around on the other side of the lake to get a better location. Coincidently found that there were a few DBKL horses on their morning walkabout.

Then took a few shots near the lake, playground and the nearby trees. Before the hour was up , Lucas was very agitated because it was hot and humid, he fell asleep as soon as I carried him around to the car. So had to wrap up fast and rush off to Muar. Will update soon with the results of the photo shoot as soon as we get it from Leon.

Reached Muar and had some yummy home cook food before registering Brandon for a dentist appointment. I must say this doctor is quite popular , luckily we waited at home for about 3 hrs before it was Brandon's turn. Its good and cheap service again, costs us RM18, so will be making another visit in a month or so.

Then all the aunties had another birthday celebration with and today will be his 3rd cake , albeit a small cupcake. Requested by Debbie as she missed out on the Sunday brunch cake cutting.

Time of bereavement

For the past 2 months there's been 2 deaths and both kids have visited the departed. The first was their great grandfather(Ng Seng Teck- Heng Hua dialect) and another was the brother of a close friend. Brandon seems to understand about the impact as he was able to relate to loss of a loved one through one of those tear jerker movies that we saw together.

Other than these events , it was relatively a quiet month. Lucas is growing teeths and his bite is very painful.

This year the Eve dinner was done at my place and Debbie wanted to cook, so I took leave to prepare for the night. The turnout was just my brother and family with my parents. Well I didn't take much photographs as I was too busy helping Debbie to clean up. The food looked good but some turned out to be better than others. Initially thought of cooking steamboat but later changed it to cooked food. We had home made yee sang made of fresh produce instead of buying the standard packets from supermarkets. Then after dinner just lepak at my place awhile before setting off. The tradition in our house, the ang paos are usually given after the eve dinner so Brandon had his fun time counting money. My nephews were sick as well so most of them left right after the dinner.

The first day of CNY as usual went over to my brothers place for chinese vegetarian dish before setting off to visit my grandparents in Seremban. As planned went there using the LEKAS highway from my brothers place in about 45 minutes , yeah its fast becoz no traffic. Actually wanted to visit a friend but he was out and this time I had tried a new route to avoid the jam at the junction of Chip Aik Garden. Once I saw all of them we set off at about 5pm and I thought we could leave on time but got caught in the traffic jam right after the Senawang toll. Its just ugly side of the Malaysian being so fascinated with the accident scene as by the time we reached the accident area everything had already cleared but everyone still slowed down to watch. Come on la people! hai yo waste everyones time till the jam stretched about 5km long, wasted about 45 min there. When we reached Ayer Keroh it was already 7plus and the queue for the gas pump was quite long as well.
Reached Tua koo house about 8plus and everyone was already there had a few bites before going back to Mamas house.
Brandon had a pleasant surprise from Tua Ee as he got an Itouch, it was so funny the way he said thank you that he even bowed to say thank you. The next morning was so busy entertaining the guests for the laksa johor open house that I couldnt remember much of anything that happened. Went over to Alicias house for a visit and on the last day went over to Parit Jawa pasar to stock up for KL dinners. Nowadays getting difficult to keep Lucas still to have his mum mum, so we made use of the child seat to strap him up during meal time.

Came home on Sunday so that Brandon could go to school the next morning, but Alicia and Tua ee keep pestering me to stay on to Monday and let Brandon ponteng school for one day. Set off about 8plus at nite and took the AMJ highway , aiyo so many traffic lights finally reached the LEKAS highway 3 hours later. From then on took only 1 hr to reach home, yup lucky me for the LEKAS and Cheras highway.

Jan 2011 weekends

For the past few weekends tried to limit traveling and spend some time at the neighborhood malls or just lepak at home. Sometimes the kids just drives us crazy but that's just part of growing up for the kids and for us learning the virtues of patience.

Had tried some Popeye's Fried Chicken based on Andys recommendation at the local mall at Wangsa Walk. Not bad la but quite pricey also, they gave some free vouchers which means I have visit them a few more times which means spend more la. Then another weekend thought we want to try something new. Debbie was interested with some home cooked meal at Jalan Ipoh called LaoMaZis. We bought another food guide for some good food recommendation and we settled on this one.

There wasnt much a crowd and the food was good. We couldn't order much just some smoked duck, bolster meat roll, sliced fish with ginger and some vege. And we finished off with some ais cream potong.

While Lucas was sleeping at the bear figure mattress I took some pictures and I recalled I took a few when Brandon was small as well but those didnt turn out right but I think Lucas looks better.

Return trip to Mama House

Mama requested everyone to return back to Muar for a get together. But I had to finish up my work for the week end. What the heck, just bring back the laptop to Muar. Already left the house and passing by Sg Besi airport but had to turn back becoz I misunderstood Diana's statement of going back home. Brandon was complaining being hungry all the time and we stopped at McD near the highway before returning back to Muar. Had our lunch of the usual Parit Jawa Assam Fish. Brandon's description is "The eating place got boat one!".
Wanted to buy some fish back but forgot today is 15th of lunar month so the pasar is closed. Went to the dentist to pull out one of Brandon's milk teeth, had booked a place for him but waited quite sometime before his turn. When it was his turn , it took less than 2 minutes and it was all over. Brandon was quite brave and he didn't put up a fuss at all.

So when they started the school , all sorts of parking havoc began. Cars double, triple parked all over the main road. The night before gave Brandon a treat by going to his favourite fried chicken wing restaurant.

How did we spend our Xmas this year? Nothing ! , Boring !!!...... Debbie had to mark papers so we had to skip JB celebration. I had to take care of the terrible twos. So as a treat we went for dinner at KLCC Chilli's , steak so nice and juicy. Brandon walloped 2 portion of kids meal ( including Lucas portion). Oh yeah Lucas had another house-call haircut. Have you noticed Lucas eyes is one big one small, dats normal! If its both double eye lid, means he's sick.

Dec 2010 Holidays

Well after the long holidays at Ah Ma's house, Brandon and Lucas finally comes back to stay in KL. And for the first few days they get to enjoy their time in Taska. Surprisingly Brandon enjoyed his brief stay there, due to his noisy and playful nature, the caretakers there likes to tease him as well. Then we went for a 1 night stay at PGH Hotel and shopped at the Mines. I must say there has been a great improvement compare to the past and there's even a water feature on the top floor. Well we went there in the morning decided to have brunch there , what else but Sushi King ( Brandons fav) So after a heavy meal decided to walk around the Mall. I still remember what Brandon mention the activities he wanted to do during the holidays
1) Stay in hotel (check but actually he wanted Gurney hotel, but we said here also got slide ma.. , he said reluctantly OK!.....phew.!! )
2) Hello kitty (Actually karaoke la... checked)
3) Genting highland( tis one Ah Ma will bring)
4) Sunway dagoon( Sunway Lagoon tis one coming soon)
Aiyo after the heavy meal , Brandon vomitted , wasted my money. Never mind la must be ate too late and too much in the morning. After vomit he felt better and went to play at the Splash Park.

A few days later Debbie had bought tickets for the Sports club family day at Sunway Lagoon. Well got lost in Sunway Pyramid parking lot while trying to get to the Water Park and had a big hoohaa. Finally got there, and Brandon was so excited , unfortunately didn't get to take any pictures there, just trying to keep an eye on Brandon. The weather was quite gloomy but the UV ray was quite strong my lens turned dark and after wards when I got back home I was burnt... sunburn la. Went there had breakfast, walked around the wildlife park , then had some rides at the amusement park finally the water park. Brandon was whinning all the time about going to the water park, finally got there and spent hours there. When we got home everyone was so tired everyone slept early including Lucas.

Ho Chi Minh trip@Lao Sai Trip

Must be wondering why the title. It started sometime back Lucas had some virus attack that made him puke and diarrhea. By the time he got well , I was already having the same symptoms the weekend before the trip. Only managed to recover at the end of the trip. Whereas Brandon and Debbie had the symptoms on the 1st day of the trip. So all of the Pang family were quite tired from the purging process.
On the 1st day managed to get on the plane on time , actually was waiting at the boarding gate when other people from another flight was crowding the entrance. So we thought might as well wait instead of standing in line. Until we were getting called from the announcer to board the plane, Paiseh la...How was I supposed to know the crowd was from another flight? Once on the plane, Lucas slept and we didnt eat the airline food as well. Scared go toilet la, so wasted right? Anyway it wasn't long till Brandon complained with the usual remark, "Are we there yet?" Once arrived was quite impressed with the new airport Tan Son Nhat International Airport and the efficiency of the bags services. Once there got an aurport taxi from Vinasun costs about USD8. But got cheated by the driver to pay extra for VND50,000 toll ticket.Reached the Hotel Tan Hai Long which just next to Ben Thanh Market. Checked and rested awhile before going out nearby to have some kuewtiao soup a.k.a. Pho in Vietnam at Pho2000. Quite pricey but don't want to risk more purgings had some nice sapodilla a.k.a. ciku drink. Bought some drinks and waited in the hotel room for the rest of the gang flying in from Singapore. By the time they arrived we were all too comfortable in the rooms to leave the room and it was drizzling outside so decided to stay put till dinner time. So 1st night we went to Nha Hang Ngon, actually wanted to go to Quan An Ngon so what the heck since we were there just eat la. It was quite a busy night, as we had to wait for tables to be cleared before we could sit. Had a few rounds of drinks and the bill comes up to VND1.3million??? Wow I feel like a billionaire can eat until million million.

2nd day book ourselves to a city tour and had a van all by ourselves. Breakfast at the hotel was good and they change the menus often. Firstly managed to go to the Reunification / Independence Palace. Spent sometime over there then onwards towards Notre Dame Cathedral and General Post Office which is just a stone throw away. Then passed by the Opera House and at this point we were trying to buy a coconut drink from the hawker and got confused by the drivers half baked Mandarin in the end forced to buy 3 instead of the intended 1 cocnut drink for Ah Kung. Right after the turning at Opera House the driver had a minor accident with another car took some time for him to settle by paying the driver then we moved on to the War Museum but it was closed as it was 12. usually 12 noon till 130 is their lunch time. So we went for lunch at a nearby restaurant just beside Ben Thanh Market. Lunch bill was half a million VND . Then waited awhile for the driver to come. In between had staked out a Hue restaurant Nha Hong Mon Hue. In between the visits Lucas had quite a few Ang Mo Aunties requesting to take photo of him. Then went to the War Museum and afterwards to Chinatown aka Cho Lon. The driver is new I think at a few point in time he was asking for directions to Binh Tay Market so luckily I downloaded my Nokia maps just in case and guided him towards it. And later after he parked the rest of the gang went to have a look but I stayed behind in the car. Then the traffic police came and the driver to bribe them and it seemed he failed and he got a summon instead. Aiyo so suey la, dont know whether it was him or us that was having bad luck. Later the drive back was far and the traffic was bad. Finally reached the hotel and I told Brandon and Debbie to go out instead since they stayed behind the whole day in the room so I took care of Lucas and they went out to the Water Puppet show then to the Hue restaurant for dinner. After their dinner they tahpau some back for my dinner.

3rd day was a full day tour for all of us including Debbie and Brandon to the Cao Dai Temple and the Chu Chi Tunnels. Again some Ang Mo auntie requested to take pic of Lucas. Lunch was after the temple visit. We went in at noon to watch the noon ceremony. It was interesting and a long trip out of HCM. Came back for dinner at SH Garden.

4th day trip back to KL and managed to do some last minute shopping last night and at Ben Thanh market.Reached home and slept till next morning so tired.

Batu Caves Challenge

Ever since we bought the Koko and May story book that featured a trip to Batu Caves we were hounded by Brandon to bring him for a visit. Had been delaying for so long we thought why not just bring him there this Sat morning since its just a 15 min drive there for our house. On the way there I noticed they had diverted the traffic so that people are not supposed to make a U turn to turn in to the entrance. And the directions to the entrance was abit of a hassle as well. Missed the turn and made another try at this time Brandon was already complaining and we joked with him that we were going home instead since we already caught a glimpse of it. Then he started to cry......Next try finally made the turn and it a winding turn in order to get in. Almost missed the entrance payment as again , no signs until I saw a mans hand waving a ticket to me. Sigh... pay $3 then only get to park.

Made the climb all the way up. Mum got to practise using the sling.Got to the top and the view was amazing with the sky lights in the cave and all sorts of people were clamouring around to worship the deities. Then got down again, had a bit of rest near the fish pond. Then onwards to Pan Heong to have our brunch with porridge, mee goreng, then Brandon ate his fav food R,E,FF and SS. Finished then passed by Giant to buy some groceries before returning home to rest.

It was a long weekend with Deepavali so we just spent the early morning lazing around the bed. I was cleaning up the house since the maid wasn't coming and had to entertain both sons so I can do my work.

Brandons 7th Birthday

It was sort of last minute, Brandon requested to have a birthday party last Monday and it has been quite sometime since he had a party with his friends. So this time round we invited his classmates and friends around the condo.He was quite excited that he went to round up his friends to come to our house for the party. We decorated a bit using blown up balloons which we later distributed to the children. We had KFC, Pizza, roast chicken and drinks. The children were playing Monopoly, Topple,Monkey Tumble games etc together. While the older kids were playing Internet games. Finally had Banana Choc cake from Secret Recipe which we later distributed to all the kids. Phew!! Finally everything was settled and cleaned up by 9.30pm

As for Lucas we finally brought him home after Debbie came back from HCM, VN trip. But we found rashes all over his body, it seems that he had a reaction to the antibiotics after his bout of fever. So we brought him to see our usual paediatrician whom advised that we stop giving it to him. It took awhile and I had to take leave for 1 day just to keep him at home as the Taska were afraid to take him in for fear of measles contamination to the other kids. I think now he's back to his cheerful self but his appetite is not as good as last time.

After Lucas caught it from Koko, now its Koko's turn. Both of them got rescued by Ah Ma flew down from Muar. Lucas is ok now. So is Koko, the rascal had the cheek to say ," Im so lucky hoh! no school!, Hah! when all the homework come back, baru dia tau! Esp the Final term exam is coming on 18 Oct. So no more outings or TV till finish his exam. Their mummy took one day leave to take care of them, so wuliao made a collage of Lucas.

Brandon however, days later got it bad, till he skipped meals due to mouth and throat ulcer.
He had rashes all over the hands , feet, mouth and backside too. Just visited Jackson today, he also has spots too but he was quite active didn't look sick at all.

Yup doctor confirmed it today after 3 visits and $200. Initially had rashes and fever but the fever is gone now. He's resting now , abit weak. Taska rejected him so I have to take leave to take care of him. Doctor says needs at least one week to recover. Jialat! how to work like dat!. In the meantime he's waking up every now and asking for attention and his sleeping habits is like tidur tidur ayam very short naps.

On a typical nite at home at Pangs residence, some people laze in front of the TV but we take care of 2 babies.

Baby 1 is always munching and multitasking. Eyes alternating between comics and TV, 1 hand apple another hand Mamee, only other free parts are the legs but sometimes 1 leg on Dad and 1 leg on Mum, very irritating.

Baby2 very kaypo wanna grow up fast , wanna stand before learning to crawl, wanna hold bottle, wanna play saliva, wanna make bubbles and complain complain.

Well Brandon's exam is fast approaching but he's in no hurry. He has found 1001 excuses not to study like thirsty, hungry, reading story books, pangsai, bath, swimming, tired etc.

Where as Lucas is fast growing up as I had him put to the walker so he can keep himself occupied without bothering us for a while.

Mid Autumn a.k.a. Moon Cake Festival-Kids play

The Aunties invited all the children to gather at the BBQ pit near the pool to celebrate the moon cake festival. It rained in the evening and were disappointed that the clouds hid the moon. A bit of an anti climax since it was supposed to be the brightest moon light of the year. Brandon enjoyed himself by screaming and lighting up as many candles as he wanted. If you had noticed Brandon already had his 2nd tooth taken out the day before as I took him to see the dentist near my office. He cried even when the doctor was talking to him. Dr Yeo was very nice and patient with him.The damage : $50 not too bad and he got a teeth and a blown up hand glove as a souvenir.

Another day to compensate the lousy outing that Brandon didn't like. So we brought him to Berjaya Time Square Cosmos Fun Park. Luckily there was some discount using my Popular Privilege Card so I could save some money to pay for lunch. We promised it would be a fun day for him , unfortunately he could only ride the level 7 rides for kids. You can see from his face how scared he was of fun rides, so skipped the roller coaster rides. Lucas also joined in the fun but I doubt he understands what's going on. Looks like Brandon enjoyed the bumper car ride the most. Later lunch was at Sushi King as he wanted to eat sushi the day before. Well after that we were all so tired and went home to take a rest.

Day trip to Sepang

Well I saw in a news paper article that was talking about a new development at Bagan Lalang called Sepang Gold Coast and it got me curious what else is there and found that there were lots of people that talked about the sights and makan over there. So being the cheapo Dad that can ill afford the trip to elsewhere, so I suggested a day trip there.

In case, you are wondering why Lucas is tied up.It's to help him to calm down and sleep peacefully. Anyway nowadays we don't tie him anymore and he sucks his finger instead of a pacifier.

Did some research on the net before planning the trip; references includes :-Miss Pipo , Miss Rachel, Cookie Momster, Dexxy, Parent Wonder, Cheryn, Terry Tsang, etc. I even planned to follow one of the bloggers plan to eat the Kai Wo Pau which is actually a lo mai kai wrapped in a pau bun which Ah Ma commented it was so.. nice, so I said to Debbie, lets try it since it was on the way. It was at a restaurant in Sri Petaling(Restoran Clan). References include :- Ipoh Mali, SaiMatKong, etc.
So we started abt 8+ from home, pumped some gas and had our breakfast at the dim sum restaurant , managed to find a parking spot right beside it. Had a full breakfast, the dish was ok, ok only la. If you notice I didnt take much of photos as I was carrying Lucas and Debbie wasn't into taking photos as well. So I guess you guys just have to believe me that I was there. Anyway there are tonnes of photos taken by other bloggers stated in the reference.
Planned a route that took care of the makan, sights and gas as well.

After breakfast took the Putrajaya-KLIA highway and exited from the Sepang F1 race track that joined to the trunk road to Tanjung Sepat. In case you are worried , just need to follow the Sepang Gold Coast signboard that would be available most of the time. So along the journey, as usual Brandon would ask, Dad? How long to reach? My answer ? Half the time to Mama house(Muar). Brandon: uhh? So far!!. I didn't get much info on the exact location of the dragon fruit farm except for the name Multi-Rich Pitaya Farm. So after Sepang town just slow down till you see the signboard. Finally found it and saw that they were quite familiar with visitors and had a tour bus parked right outside. They also longan, passion fruit grown here apart from dragon fruit. Saw a poor monkey locked up in cage as well. They had quite a few selection of products like Dragon Fruit wine and enzymes etc... We tried the dragon fruit icicles , they also had dragon fruit/passion fruit ice blend as well. In case you are wondering is there other dragon fruit farm around. The answer is yes, there are lots of them all along the main road, so don't worry if you couldn't find this one, there are many others along the road to Tanjung Sepat. Bought some dragon fruits to give away and keep some for ourselves.

Next stop was the Ganofarm as I also dont know where the rest of the other sights are located exactly but Ganofarm was in my GPS. Silly me I already printed the map but dont know where I left it. Seriously we wanted to stay overnight at the Ganofarm but couldn't get a booking since we changed dates. Anything to see over there? Got la abit nothing much but did a bit of shopping as well. Quite an extensive range of fresh mushroom. Went in deeper inside the farm ,saw they were actually building some restaurant/cafe along the beach, so took some pictures. From a distance we could see the jetty which they called "Lovers Bridge". Aiyah I think its becoz the locals like to pak to over there la.

Next stop was Hai Yew Hin Pau shop. They originally started from the shop opposite. Later when more tourist comes , I think they expanded had a mini factory across the street. Luckily today was off peak season( Hungry Ghost and Puasa) so managed to buy a few to keep for breakfast. Quite nice tho, personally I think their pau is more old fashion (natural ingredients) so has a rough texture compared to the normal pau we eat very white, smooth and sweet. If you notice their pau has their brand advertisement pasted on the pau paper on the bottom.

Afterward Brandon was already so bored and he kept asking for the iPhone to play with. And he kept complaining hot, tired, thirsty , hungry etc. But we had make 2 stops 1 for the Kerepek factory called Arowana and another was for the fish ball factory just behind the Pasar Awam. We only stopped awhile at the fish ball factory , actually only Debbie got down but it wasn't convenient to buy it since it was made fresh and hard to keep it fresh later as we didn't bring ice box to keep it cool. So went over to the Kerepek factory , another disappointment as I think we just walked in but there wasn't a tour around the factory making process available. The place is quite a distance from the main road. So bought some kerepek before leaving for lunch. And it was back to the beach area, and settled for Restoran Hong Seng.

Read from another blogger talked about lack of makan places. When we reached we thought : On holiday ka? So empty one? Anyway tired and thirsty we ordered but the dishes came later. Saw the tour bus from the dragon farm, kerepek factory and now the same restaurant that we were at. And then their dishes came first , aiyah! I thought : bad choice la should have chosen another place. When the dishes came ,it was ok but the portions were for like 6-8 person but there were only 2 ad half of us eating. So we just finished the rest of the steam crabs and tahpau the rest for tomorrows dinner la. Price total 80+ ok la

Finally after lunch about 2pm so hot , worried that the rest of the mushroom and dragon fruit would be spoiled under the hot sun. Never mind last stop Sepang Gold Coast. Got there alright I thought it was quite close to the main road but in reality had to go through some twist and turn to reach it. Finally got there but was given the run around as I suspect a lot of people would park near the hotel. So had to park some distance away. When we reached the beach I took Brandon along for a walk along the beach . It was low tide so it was quite some distance to reach the water. In between the muddy shore my slippers got stuck , in the end was spoilt so had to drag it back to shore. Debbie was waiting for us back at the beach. Was tired and sweaty so bought some ice cream to cool off and afterwards the long ride home. Later got a phone call from Aunt Kim Chee who wanted a ride back to the train station from Mines, so had to pack the baby car seat when I was pumping gas on the way back at PSS KLIA-LCCT. Then sent Mum back to Ah Bee's place before leaving back home. In the end to cheer Brandon from this boring trip, took him to the swimming pool to cool off. That's all folks!

Mines hotel holiday

Spent some time at the Mines Spa Resort, so that Brandon can get his fix. He just loves staying at the hotel, Lucas just tagged along with us. There was a convention at the time and I almost didn't get a place to park at the hotel. This time round we couldn't get connecting rooms. The Mines shopping center has improved there were lots of shops to linger around. Didn't spend much , just had some meals , of course Brandon gets to choose all his favorite food like Pizza Hut, Sushi King etc.

We have just started to send Lucas to Taska day care at my workplace. Its cheap and good , convenient as well, so no complaints. But then due to so many diseases and children around he caught the fever and sniffles in the 1st week. Later in the week he caught his cough from his mama. Aiyoh so messy to clean up after the vomit. And Brandon is playing his koko role "trying" to help but not doing much, aiyah wat do u expect from a 7 year old. During that time Mummy has had her dream sofa shopping then booked and delivered. In between had to think of how to get rid of the existing sofa, so we got to know of a charity org Xim Phou Moon. Luckily they came an hour before then an hour after she got her new sofa.

May trip to JB

This was Lucas first long distance trip. Had serviced my car early in the morning before moving out after lunch at Sky Food Court. The gas system was not working after servicing so had to use petrol on the way back(sigh... lose money). Debbie said it was becoz I stick the NGV label after 2 years of using the NGV system without the label, Nonsense la ......

Then onward to Muar but traffic was bad from Bangi to Seremban. Was feeling very sleepy midway then let Doreen takeover at a rest stop and bought some snacks, then the whole Pang clan went into coma Zzz....... Brandon commented why we switched drivers and said I was lazy... Kanasai!
Reached Muar around 4 o'clock. Had some more Zzzz.... while the others went to Parit Jawa to stock up on seafood supplies. Ah Ma cooked dinner(Yummy!!) then we went to order new LCD TV to replace the one struck by lightning. The model was narrowed down by Doreen Panasonic VIERA 42 "LCD HDTV. I was poorer after contributing to the TV fund. Later went to Wetex to buy some groceries and I bought Brandon some revision book for Bahasa Melayu to brush up his knowledge. Needless to say, Brandon hated it as it meant more homework for him. Hmmpph.... says Brandon.

The next morning, woke up, had breakfast(chuey kueh and rice ball chicken rice) then set off for JB. Started the engine (hee.hi... NGV working again) then reached Tampoi station to fill up on gas before proceeding to Kim Teng Park. Had a good hearty lunch and saw the rest of the JB gang. It was also the first time that Lucas made an appearance for the JB gang and Tua Ee. This trip was actually to celebrate Trisha, Tristan and their Ah Kungs birthdays. Had some cakes before checking in Crystal Crown. Brandon was happy to stay at the hotel again becoz got air-cond or "cold" as he said when he invited Kuan Yew. This time round checked in late so we couldn't get connecting rooms, they had recently renovated the room. It was much brighter and cleaner, best thing they had done was to remove the smelly carpets. When dinner came, we went to Restoran Wah Yew (Jln Perang, Tmn Pelangi same row as Restoran Ah Kaw)for some Teo Chew dishes. It was good but filling by the 3rd dishes we felt abit full , luckily the subsequent dishes were light so we were able to stuff more food into our faces. Finished abt 1030pm then back to the hotel.

The next day had some breakfast at the hotel but Debbie and Daphne skipped as we didn't have enough vouchers. Came back to Muar by 2pm, it was drizzling and had some heavy rain on the way back from JB to Muar. Doreen tahpau some satay and char siew rice for lunch. Had some makan then Zzz... again. Brandon was entertaining himself with Astro 613, 616 and the computer at Muar or with Tristan while at JB. Made our way back to KL by 530pm and I pumped gas at Ayer Keroh. On the way back, had to endure a crawl for nearly an hour for a distance of 10km doing less than 10km/h becoz of an accident. Got to Senawang by 805pm, exited and went straight to Seremban Baked Crabs to have dinner. Was quite expensive had 1.5kg @$48/kg then $52 for prawns , once done @930 moved out from Seremban back to KL using the Lekas->Silk highway. A very smooth drive with not much traffic , reached KL at 1030pm. Phew... !what a long drive. Next morning all of us had tummy ache after last nites dinner.

Lucas 6 weeks old

Not much has happened for the past 6 weeks. Lucas is getting his shots, Brandon is getting more affectionate with his brother. Didnt celebrate Lucas full month celebration just bought some package from 2 vendors Uniq (Halal)and Delight(Pork free) then distributed to friends and family. Nowadays trying to enjoy the late nite feeds and also the constant whining, so we will just take every free moment to nap. Now beginning to see eye lashes and eye brows on Lucas. Brandon on the other hand just finished his first term exam not bad even got 100/98 for his Science in Chinese/English but still failed in Bahasa Melayu (38/58) , Chinese(91/80),Math in Chinese(80/88) Eng Language(94/94) , Chinese Language(85/86)Phys Ed.Chinese (56) Art (C) . I am getting pressured by aunties all over the school to enrol him for tuition classes, Aiya.. poor thing la everyday come back from school at 4 pm still want to torture him meh! I still remember last time we all study in Year One where got so much pressure one? these days so much expectation everything also want 100%.

Well a big event happened on April. The latest addition to the family. Lucas Pang Xian Xun (彭顯迅). Actually was a bit afraid becoz Brandon had contracted chicken pox 10 days before that he had to be quarantined sent back to Muar but he was more than happy as he could skip school. Sadly had to be back after 9 days but he was welcomed by his new little bro Lucas.

December celebration

Finally, Brandon could spend some time with his favorite cousin and best friend Tristan since they are of the same age. We traveled down to JB for the Xmas holiday with the JB gang. First we had makan party at Kim Teng park. The next day went over to Spore to shop awhile at Causeway Point. Then had another party at Betty's new house warming cum Xmas party. Lastly was the family event at Tristan's house. This was more fun as we had a singing session and the boys were performing using their guitar. On the last day supposed to leave but had a scare as Ah Ma had an UTI infection , so had to be admitted for 1 day and we had to stay over at the the hotel 1 more day before going back to Muar then back to KL for Brandon's school day.

On 31 Dec Brandon had his first day of orientation at his new school Chong Hwa which we can see his class right opposite our room. (hee... hee.. which we can spy on him if we want to see what he's doing.)At first when he awoke to wash up he complained that he was scared as his new school has to use Chinese to converse. Sobbing in between he says "But I cannot speak Chinese". Had to reassure him as he was supposed to get used to it since he has been staying with Hui Mee for so long speaking Mandarin. Then he started his antics complaining of stomach pains. So we walked him to the school and had to endure the super kiasu headmaster walking thru the requirements of the day of filling up the forms, paying up, collecting the text books etc.

December holidays

Well the holidays has arrived and we managed to bring Brandon to some of his favorite activities which is enjoying a holiday stay at the hotel. Managed to spend one nite at The Palace of the Golden Horses. Then did another major purchase which was a PSP that he has been asking for it for as long as 2 years ago. It was about 6 months ago , that his Gameboy died. So the mummy has generously bought him a PSP while we were at the Mines.

Then recently Debbie had a PWC Sports club sponsored Family Day event at Genting. All of us (Ah Ee, Sa Ee, Mummy, Yati(Mummy colleague) n Brandon) went up using our trusted Waja. We enjoyed the breakfast and lunch session at the Coffee Terrace and also the All Parks voucher. Brandon got to go to his fav place which is the Snow House but couldn't manage to build his snow house and snowman. Then came out had his Maggie Noodle in a cup to keep himself warm. We visited Motion Master 4D where we saw a movie about Dinosaurs. Brandon was scared silly as the 3d effect was so real and so loud that he kept his eyes and ears closed most of the time.

And then finally the 3 sisters went on a Treasure Hunt that they won 1st prize of RM1,500 that they spilt among themselves only. Well afterwards had a few more rides at the Outdoor Parks before leaving home about 5pm. Reached home about 6plus then everyone was tired and collapsed till next day skipping dinner.

6th Birthday celebration

Well I was supposed to update this during November but I didnt take the photos, Ah Kung did it and I had to wait till the next trip back to Muar then only can post the pictures. Actually I had to skip the actual day as I was away on a business trip in Bangkok. Well the girls brought him out to TGIF that nite and staffs sang a birthday song for him. When he was asked to sing , he was so shy only his mouth moved but no voice came forth.
When I came back, we had to wait for the rest of the Muar gang to celebrate with him at Redbox Plus. Got free makan , drinks and sing song as well. They chose the room closest to the buffet spread. We had the birthday cake with his favorite cartoon Ben 10. Also opened the presents bought by everyone.

Penang trip Part 4

Went to Penang on a 3 day holiday to Brandons fave hotel at Gurney Resort.
This time round went with Ah Ma n gang for a food holiday where we stuffed ourselves silly. Brandon was bored following us to all the historic houses of Peranakan house and Khoo Kongsi. He just wanted to play slides at the hotel and watch cartoon network whole day in an air-condition room.
Even though had been in Penang 3 times before but still dont know how to get around Georgetown. But this time round I have got a Garmin GPS so we can move around with no problems. So onwards to stuff ourselves silly for the next 3 days

Itinerary Day1
Move out from KL at 8am took the highway from Duta then exit Rawang to fill up gas. Then stopover at Tapah for an hour and continued my journey. Exited at Taiping then reached Parit Buntar for gas fill up, onwards to Bagan Prawn Village , Tambun for lunch at at 1pm +. After lunch onwards to the island using the ferry service at Butterworth, Deb was pissed becoz the trunk road was jammed. Reached the hotel and headed straight for the pool. Had dinner at New Lane then we went back to hotel and the rest of the gang went to Gurney Plaza to shop , stock up supplies.

Itinerary Day2
Had breakfast at Pulau Tikus Market then onwards to Peranakan Hse then onwards to Khoo Kongsi. It was a hot, hot, HOOOOO.....TTTT day. Lunch was at New World Park. Then went back to hotel for a rest. Then went to Batu Ferringhi beach then came back to town for dinner at Hot Wok Rest. Went back hotel but the others went to pack supper from New Lane.

Itinerary Day3
Had Bak Kut Teh breakfast at Song River. Then stopped by Him Heang to stock up some supplies then back to hotel. Brandon went to play at the pool for one last time before we had a late checked out by 2pm then head out for lunch at Nyonya Breeze and had some dessert at New World Plaza one last time before leaving using the ferry again. Stopped for gas at Prai then onwards to Tapah for a stopover arrived at 630pm for some Baskin Robbins. Left Tapah and reached home at 830pm, was really really tired and we had dinner/supper at BRJ. Came home and slept direct.

Sept weekends

Well after the Cameron trip decided to take it easy and just lepak around town. And we booked ourselves at Mines Wellness Resort. So spent some time at the Mines , shopped, ate, then bowling, karaoke then back to hotel. Tomorrow had a dip before leaving to Ikea for a short trip then back home.

Cameron 2009

Well I was away from Malaysia due to work assignment to Weifang, Shandong, China for 1 month and when I got back to Malaysia in Aug , we were supposed to drive up to Cameron Highlands the next day. Spent 3 days and 2 nites seeing the sites and buying and eating etc...

Forgot to mention we stopped over at Ipoh Thean Chun then got lost trying to get out of Ipoh to Cameron Highland . Needless to say the place was packed and it was peak hour coupled with a rainy day. Look at the food we had at Cameron.

Register for Next Year Enrolment

Today I was reminded to register Brandon to his school next door. Well I got the notice last week and even before that Auntie was already reminding me to do it. Luckily I am on leave so I could do it. What pisses me is that I needed to fill in 3 forms which are nearly identical. Why cant they just combine them . And they keep asking all sorts of questions. Look at the forms and you'll know what I mean. I remarked to Debbie(who has always been against Chinese schools) abt it. She said "Communist mah, U dont know meh, The headmaster sort sort one!" As we could hear the assembly every morning , he does seems to be quite money minded always asking for donations and singing praises about the school.

Based on Aunties advice to enrol him to a 精英 class, felt abit kiasu but what to do since his playmate Mimi is there also, so I should enrol him to the same class to reduce the shock of a new environment.

During registration I had trouble writing his Chinese name also. Argh... Sometimes I wonder is this really helping him or torturing him? Sigh... decisions decisions. Had a discussion with Debbie abt it sometime back becoz he's always ignoring his Chinese and hates it as well. "I DONT LIKE CHINESE" he says. But as parents we also wants what's the best for him. Let him try it out else the next option is private school which costs an arm and a leg.

Last weekend , we went for Debbie cousins Nie Nie wedding in JB. Brandon was so excited meeting up with Tristan and the JB gang.

Celebrations May

May was quite an eventful month as Brandons aunt Vicki ,was getting married and he became the so called flower boy and also the car door opener for the groom on the wedding ceremony day. Unfortunately he was exhausted at the end of the day so he could only enjoy the 1st few dish after that he was asleep the whole nite. On the day itself Muar gang had already taken a fancy family portrait at a nearby studio.

Then we went to JB for the grand uncle birthday celebration. Brandon got to play with the rest of the JB gang. And to stay at his favorite place(hotel). We asked him why. Becoz cold cold so nice. The place was at Grand Bluewave , quite expensive but the view was nice.

Mix n Match April 2009

There was a few outings we went during the year but didnt get published becoz too busy. So now we tried to mix n match with some candid shots n also some of outings to FRIM Kepong, April girls birthdays, Sports day etc.

FRIM Kepong
First up was the FRIM photos that happened sometime back, was tiring but didnt make it for the hanging bridge walk. Had to carry Brandon most of the time.

Candid -weekend
Over the past few weekends went to Amcorp Mall, got an Indian haircut etc.

April Birthdays
Had to rush to Melaka and back on Sat nite for Sundays Sports Day.
Spent some time at Jonker Street for the tailored baju nyonya. Then spent some time at Mahkota Parade before deciding to go for dinner at Makko Nyonya food rest at Melaka Raya. We waited from 5 plus till 7pm for Doreen as she lost her way a few times. Dinner was nice bought some sauces back as well.

Sports day
This was last weekend, actually quite a short one, parking was terrible.But luckily this year everything went on schedule so it was over by 10+, Brandon was happy to leave to take his lunch at Sky (fav: spaghetti, fish & eggs)

March and February just whizzed by so busy. Luckily managed to get a few shots during our day out at Ikano. The boy is still interested in these cars, we told him he's too old for these things, usually reserved for babies. But he insisted, oh well! Took a few shots of Brandons cousin Ethan.

CNY 09

Well the new year came and past, I was particularly busy and Brandon enjoyed his stay at Ah Ma's house till he asked to come back to KL (had enough).
Chinese New Year celebration was celebrated in KL, Seremban , Muar , JB then all the way to Spore. Unfortunately I was back at work on Day3 of CNY. So most of the pictures were taken by Debbie and Brandon too.

December of never

Well times has flown by without really realizing it. Sometimes I like to stare at Brandon and he'll go: Woi! i busy la, u do your work or whatever that I was doing. We watch movies all the time and they always make statements about family and love, it sounds so corny and fake. But when you have a child of your own and watching him growing up everyday with his quirks and tantrums. I am just in awe of how such a small fella can bring us so much pride and joy. Ok enough of babbling and lets get on with what we did during the school holidays. Well we spent sometime in Muar then back in KL saw some Xmas trees in KLCC.

Here's another one where the vain pot almost finished my tub of Tancho on his hair which you can see his hair gleaming.

Then we were being harassed by Brandon every single day complaining that he's so bored and we never bring him out. So we decided to bring him to Sunway Lagoon again.
One thing with Brandon is that he's not tired of doing things over and over again.
At first he cried when we brought him to the dry park rides. He was so terrified of the ride. But after the first one , he was so hyped up he was willing to try all the rides including the mini roller coaster.
When we finally got to the wet park , that's when he went delirious with joy ans it was such a hassle to play with him and also shoot pics so we didn't take any since we had already taken the last time round.

Haadyai Trip

Sentral

It was last Friday nite train that we planned to go Haadyai that started from 8pm and reaching there at 11am next morning. Luckily we took the bottom bunk otherwise it would be a hassle to climb up and down. Well waited at KFC and Debbie just got the new Olympus camera and handed it to Brandon for his pleasure so he kept clicking away till his heart content. So you will see a lot of him taking pictures of himself.

The journey up was quite boring and long luckily we had a bed to lie down while the rest of the gang namely Doreen n the JB gang were gambling the whole nite to kill time

Travel up

The day that we arrived we had lunch then back to hotel (Mayflower) was newly renovated and close to the shopping complex nearby. Luckily we had Somsak to guide us around town in his tuk tuk.

Market

The next day we went to the market on foot then went on a food hunt to look for makan along the way. Interestingly they have a lot of Teochew in Haadyai, so haggling for price is easy if u know how to speak Hokkien. Even the prices here are more often quoted in MYR, who says we're in Thailand!

Ride

Went to a few shopping complex then there was Tesco, Lotus which we had to take alonger ride out of town. The past few days were raining , drizzling everyday when we were there.

Makan

For dinner we went to a few restaurants but only managed to catch some pictures on the 2nd nite. Food was good and reasonable if u know which ones to look for.

Last day

For the journey back had to ta pau for dinner as the journey back was long and the canteen food in the train sucks. So ta pau some BBQ Pork rice , Stew Pork leg rice and some KFC. Suprisingly the selections of McD and KFC here has a lot more variety of which we had never seen in Malaysia.

Penang Part3

The month of November was a busy month, actually Brandon had his birthday earlier than usual as everyone was free during the weekend. But on the actual day itself we had a family affair just the 3 of us going JJ and letting him choose his toys and play video games at the Fun Park. This time round Debbie had to go to Penang again for the training course she had to conduct, so we took another holiday to Penang again.
He had the usual fun in the hotel watching cartoons, playing at the pool but this time round spending more time at Gurney Plaza looking at toys and at the Fun Park.
Wanted to bring him to the Toy Museum but he was terrified of the scary figures at the beginning of the gallery. Ceh! Wasted RM16. This time round before going to Penang, had the car converted to NGV so fuel costs was only RM30, compared to last time was at least RM240, hah! saved.

St Ronan Annual Concert 2008

Well last Sunday was Brandons big day so he could show off his moves at the annual concert. Well I was seated quite far from the stage and there were too many parents in front. So being a non kiasu parent I stayed at my own seat and took pictures from afar. As you can see it was a busy morning as we dressed him and tried to have some make up on him. (Yee....., at first he said no, later he wanted to look in the mirror , vain pot)

I tell you if not for Brandon performing in the event, we wont be going there becoz its a 2hr plus long performance. By the time they reach Brandons turn ,the show was almost over and we were glad coz there's only so much of kiddy performance for one day. Brandon was doing the drum dance event over the "Sukiyaki" song

Well I got a new phone from Sg Wang as the old one kept dying on me. While trying out the phone, took the first picture of Brandon. Then the next day caught Brandon doing his business and then he drew some pictures of the Ultraman family at the end of the clip.

Mumm... I want a new toy

Ask and it was given, he was so excited with the toy that he woke me up from my sleep to show off his new toy. And it didn't last more than 1 hr later that he ask for another new toy tomorrow.
This was just one of the weekends that I finally got some free time that I could send my car for service and it burnt a hole in my wallet. ouch.. and the car need new tyres too. ouch... ouch...
